Interview by Lorenzo Madaro.
LM Gallery is glad to announce the solo show “Giulio Zanet. Behind the scenes”.
As the third apointment of the season 2018-2019, the gallery chose to open its doors to a residency program, that will show the artists creating its new paintings on fabric, in a dialogue with the space and the other works, all realized in 2018.
“Behind the scenes” refers to the creative phase of the artist, who’s going to show and share the moments that are concealed behind his works. As in his older paintings, also the new ones will be focused on a large scale, where intense and gaudy colours find the perfect surface.
The peculiarity of this exhibition will be the multiplicity of techniques and supports, who gave Zanet tha chance to experiment on materials as pvc, paper, canvas and brillant fabrics. Those media were the survey field of a more mature and incisive painting, where repeated signs seem to look for a new language, getting rid of the former uncertainty.
In addition will be present a new series of bronze sculptures, inspired by the same fresh and instinctive signs found in his paintings.
The exhibition will also feature a catalogue with an interview by the italian art critic Lorenzo Madaro.
